Welcome to Dr. Kyung Jae Lee’s Research Group
. We are multidisciplinary research group in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Houston. We develop science and engineering solutions that enable circular energy and resource systems in the subsurface. Our research integrates multiscale modeling, experimental validation, and artificial intelligence to transform waste streams such as produced water, carbon dioxide, and nuclear byproducts into sustainable energy and resources. CSSL addresses key challenges at the intersection of energy transition, subsurface storage, and resource recovery.
